Doyle is a perceptive observer of the U.S. political scene, and this piece is no exception. I don't know that I agree with the "most respected" former president label. But certainly, after 8 years of George Bush, there's been a certain amount of nostalgia for the Clinton years. Among Clinton supporters, that still holds true. But, other than the true believers, I have to agree that the prospective first husband--while still capable of the unique combination of folksy charm and issue detail for which he is so famous--has been extraordinarily ham-fisted in this campaign. I believe this article, did not support with any named sources. It leaves a lot to your imagination. What does Hillary say about what he does? What do the people feel about his actions.
