For Now, McCain Has The TV-Ad Scene to Himself

The message is economics and the state that has seen the most spending on ads so far is Ohio.

The writer doesn't know much about ad placement or frequency of message, which are both elemental in an on-air TV campaign. The comparisons of amounts spent from W in 2004 and McCain now appears to show a small McCain war chest emptying itself earlier for TV spots. Nice to have some info on prime time placement and perhaps if there were a comparison between the cost of an ad in 04 and now to see if it's in line.

This piece is pretty fair and sticks mainly to facts rather than implying something negative or positive about the candidates. It's pretty boringly written though. A better writer could've captured the same "just-the-facts mam" quality but made it more readable.

I thought the article contained very little substance, but instead focused entirely on TV ads for John McCain. I found it tedious.

This is a very straight forward story about the McCain campaign ad buys in certain states while he has the field to himself.

John McCain is "particularly effective" and has "taken advantage" of the ongoing Democratic primary to run TV ads without opposition. Ad content is included in the article, but since the ads appear to be mostly buzzwords and fluff, there's no fact-checking... also, the author doesn't detail any of the positions McCain takes in the ads. There is a great deal of information regarding how many times TV spots have run in particular markets. Beyond that, this article doesn't have much to offer the discussion.
