A thrilling but flawed campaign nears its end

The democratic process is not something that can, or should, be set in stone. To adjust the rules while a campaign is in progress, however, is to invite trouble. George Bush's own election showed how a combination of poor systems, ruthless ambition, sharp lawyers and a sympathetic court could subvert US democracy. Worth reading in that it gives a succinct summation and perspective from a British view of the Democratic primaries and where we've landed after fifteen months of campaigning. One of many articles and op/eds we shall be seeing this week as the primaries draw to a close, and the postmortems, second-guessings and pronouncements roll out.
