This article is typical of the NY Times in that it shows "balance" between two competing views, allowing each to have their say. But it leaves out so many other viewpoints that stand outside of the neo-con vs. realist Republicans. While this article is somewhat critical of McCain, it does not point out some of his underlying and, in my opinion, fundamental flaws. For instance, McCain's seeming wavering between these two foreign policy strategies is really the result of him fully adopting the neo-con/radical conservative stances as his own since 2000.
