Israel imposes a 10-year ban on American critic of Israeli policies

On Friday, Israeli security forces, Shin Bet, detained Norman Finkelstein when he tried to enter Israel, kept him in an airport holding cell for 24 hours, ordered him deported from the country, and then imposed a 10-year ban on his entry. what seems important here is that governments even those which are 'democractic' are punitive when they are being criticized for doing embarrassing things. this points out the critical importance of citizens demanding to maintain all the civil rights they know they should have in a 'free society' as it is all too easy for those to be eroded by universities, corporations and governments. i'd like to have read here quotes, events, summaries of what the mentioned critics have actually said and done, and to/with whom.
