Important story, though brief. Brzezinski's warning ought to be heeded by Obama.

I agree with Sir Sherardd Cowper-Coles that development aid should be distributed through tribal leaders. Stability in Afghanistan needs the help of Iran, but this obvious course of action gets little or no consideration.
