A joke that says it all: A Senator ends up in Heaven. But Heaven never gets Senators so he must decide: Heaven or Hell. When the elevator door opens in Hell, it’s a beautiful golf course with past colleagues motioning him to play. Finishing off with an evening of steak, champagne, and beautiful women, he goes back to Heaven. There it’s strumming harps and resting on clouds. After a simple dinner, he tells St. Peter that Hell is more exciting. But when the elevator door opens in Hell, it's a gray, hot, desolate, dirty, smoky landscape. Everyone shoveling sewage and worse. ‘What happened to the golf course?” gasps the Senator. The Devil replies, “Yesterday we were campaigning. Today you voted.”
