John McCain, cancer and PTSD

He'll be releasing everything about his repeated cancer surgeries. But he won't release his psychiatric records, which hold clues to the effect of his Vietnam captivity.

On Friday, after repeated pledges to do so going back more than a year, the McCain campaign is set to release new information about the Arizona Republican's health history. The release, according to the campaign, will cover the year 2000 forward, a period when McCain had three of his four skin cancers removed, as well as lymph nodes and part of a salivary gland. It will not, however, include McCain's psychiatric records, which McCain allowed a select group ... Full Story »

This is a fair report on Senator John McCain's mental and physical health. For the type of atricle this one seems fair to me. It freely discusses important issues including the positive and negative possiblilities

The article raises questions about mental and physical health of a candidate for the most powerful office in the world. A thorough mental examination and physical examination should be a requirement for the office of President, and McCain seems intent on keeping his history under cover. The article does not mention suspicions of Alzheimer's due to his age and inability to remember what his positions on issues were last year.

This piece has no journalistic merit. It is pure hate, and makes one wonder why Senator Obama keeps complaining about the tepid attacks on him, which are nothing compared to this. The writers have no knowledge of American history. Most of the excellent Presidents had very short tempers, from Washington onward. These writers would have ruled most of them out, certainly Washington, Lincoln, Eisenhower. Many had poor health. These people would have ruled them out, too. Not clear why this was posted on NewsTrust.

Very fact-filled article about McCain's past military experiences and his current state of health. Also covers what to expect from his doctors' forthcoming reports. I only wish the press had been thorough about GW Bush's past military record. Why did Bush get a virtual free pass with so many unresolved points of contention while McCain (a decorated "war hero") is now being so thoroughly examined? Why can't we get a press to operate under consistent standards for all candidates and insist on their full disclosure? Which comes to another point. Why are only records from 2000 forward available? Is their something he doesn't want the public to know about? Lets's see if the press can follow-up on this point without allowing McCain a ... More »
