Nobel Prize winner Norman Borlaug dies at 95

Agricultural scientist Norman Borlaug, the father of the "green revolution" who won the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in combating world hunger and saving hundreds of millions of lives, died Saturday in Texas.....Many experts credit the green revolution with averting global famine during the second half of the 20th century and saving perhaps 1 billion lives.. I have no idea how good the article was. It wouldn't come up when I clicked on 'more'.

Through no fault of his own, Norman Borlaug's green revolution was an almost unmitagated disaster. One more such revolution (which is being proposed using GM) and we will be down to the Lovelock number (one billion)
