Thoughtful, balanced but pointed -- this is worth reading and remembering as things go along. Some would disagree whether there 10 minutes left on the peace clock; some would suspect 10 seconds is more like it. Time enough for one Hail Mary pass from your own five yard line.
Factors involved in the Middle-Eastern balance of power are presented clearly. Gorenberg focuses on the stubborn and pugnacious US policy that will probably result in strengthening Hezbollah in Lebanon and impede agreement between Israel and Syria. The piece achieves balance even though much of the info comes from one source. Good reporting, intelligent analysis.
