For an economics rag this is extraordinarily good. Worth reading. but, as the author comments, parts are left untold. I object to the sarcastic ctiticism of the well tried and true practices (color charts) to get the message across.

It's an important story, well done and informative. But if the story is correct that housing price falls are concentrated in a few states, the big picture includes more comparison between essentially different markets. The difficulty of choosing an index to get good info was very well done.
