If the writer, a Fox commentator, would have touted a long Republican nomination season for the same reasons, he would have had more credibility. The current Democratic race has shed more heat than light, something he fails to acknowledge. After checking on Rush Limbaugh's site about his "Operation Chaos," urging his listeners to switch their party registration temporarily in order to vote for Clinton and prolong the race, one has to wonder if the open primary system has seen more "strategic voting" than if both primaries were still deciding the candidate.
