Florida Passes Anti-Bully Law

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) is expected to sign legislation that would require school districts to prohibit bullying and harassment.

The Senate passed the bill unanimously on Wednesday. It already had passed the House.

This is an important story as it demonstrates a non-partisan move by the conservative controlled state government of Florida on an issue important not only to the gay community but to all youth and parents. The article could have benefited by providing more background information and context as to what brought this issue forward in the legislative process. Did no one oppose this legislation? Sources seem limited to those who consider this a win.
