I don't know if someone put Wright up to it or not. He does not appear the kind of guy that needs any encouragement to shoot off his mouth though. Wright and his nutty conspiracy theories are the African-American version of all those white folk out there who keep emailing me that 9/11 was an inside job. Neither the left or right can claim a monopoly on nutty notions and victimization-paranoia. The real issue here is not Wright and what he believes, but rather why we are even talking about this kind of nonsense in the first place. Some days I feel like I'm trapped in some kind of nation wide high school complete with clicks, bullies and nerds all calling each other names. Very depressing, considering the very real problems -- some of a life-threatening nature -- that currently confront us.
