Nearly As Many Americans Struggling as Thriving

Having surveyed more than 100,000 Americans since the beginning of 2008, the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index reveals that 49% of Americans are "thriving," 47% are "struggling," and nearly 4% are "suffering."

While the results appear interesting, information on the survey model is somewhat limited. For instance, it appears emphasis was placed on ensuring a wide geographic sample, but no information is provided to indicate if socioeconomic factors were included in the sampling model. While comparisons are made to other countries raw study results, no analysis is provided to explain why citizens of the other countries surveyed had higher or lower "struggling" or "thriving" percentages.
