I think the author did a good job at presenting both sides of the car accident story. At first, I thought the author was only going to present the backlash against the Brazilian illegal immigrant. However, it was very interesting to see that the local white girl was also breaking the law by speeding at 82 mph while the truck driver was only going 9 mph. Although illegal immigrants do seem to be a problem in Martha Vineyards, the author did a good job at fairly presenting the topic. However, I do think that the headline of this story is misleading. From the headline, it seems as though President Obama's visit was going to cause racial tensions. But, the article has nothing to do with President Obama's visit. Additionally, the author did not seem to do much reporting on his own, rather just grabbed quotes from the Martha Vineyard Times.
