Politico is pretty cynical here, but honest. This explains the disappointing reality of tonight's speech -- that a major purpose is to try and redirect the media narrative of the health care debate.

the focus here is on whether or not pres. obama can change, with one speech to congress, the direction of the discussion on the issue. the writer points out the difficulty of the task, and potential strategies. the tone here is illustrated in a number of lines, such as "see if you can spot the pre-packaged soundbite as the pres. speaks."
