Prices of rice and other basic food items are increasing in the world. The global food price crisis is affecting millions, possibly billions of people. Food policies are challenged. Governments are imposing emergency measures to calm down their restless constituents. This post provides a range of local perspectives from a region that is experiencing a very severe crisis in the prices of food. We've heard about this trend in mainstream media, but mostly from people far away from the problems. Each link in the post leads to more information from bloggers in South East Asia.
