Great and factual story on Burning Man, the yearly art festival in Nevada's Black Rock Desert. As an eyewitness, I can confirm that the information provided in this analysis is accurate, fair, contextual and relevant. The author captures the spirit of this special place very well -- going beyond the typical media cliches that tend to describe it as just 'naked people on drugs.'

I just came back myself from a week at Burning Man. Check out my photos from the Playa (http://bit.ly/ynbfO) to get a sense of what it's like. This is my 8th year, and I was struck once again by its transformative power and community spirit.

This is quality journalism because it explores what we all take for granted, our freedom. What I thought was interesting was how Michaelson draws you in. He entices you with what appears to celebrity gossip. However, he merely uses the American Idol contestant, Adam Lambert as a jumping off point for his central argument. That is a clever way to reel in readers of all ages. A majority of readers watch television and have most likely heard Lamberts quote about Burning Man. Therefore, it is quality journalism done with style. You are drawn in by the lighthearted opening and before you realize it are nodding to yourself agreeing with Michealson.I personally have gained a new perspective on my daily thoughts and routine.
