The opinion piece supports the proposition that opinion on health care systemic change is changing, and that bottom-up democracy needs to get crackin to advocate single payer health care. This opinion piece has little journalistic merit. It is very one-0sided and was not researched at all. Single-payer health care has been a disaster wherever it has been tried, whether in Canada or Britain or continental Europe or the Communist countries (the ultimate single-payer system). The author should have done some research on the issue before writing this piece. There is no mention of alternatives that are working, such as high-deductable MSAs.
