Dionne properly draws editorial attention to a strangely elevated Supreme Court case that could well threaten democracy in a much worse way than even the extremely partisan appointment of George W to the presidential office.
The usurping of democracy by huge corporations demands reducing corporate influence in government, and here Roberts and his radically regressive right wing justices are seeking to cement the power of big corporations for decades.

E.J. Dionne defends ban on corporate contributions. His reasoning appears to be solid but not very original, and he does not explain why the U.S. system would be less "workable" if the law got changed.
I would have wished for a more detailed presentation of the problem for the current political system.
