Posted by Louise FrancoThe worst sort of hate-mongering. Ayers was cleared. Wright is due the same free speech rights as this hateful scree. And some people have different views on abortion than this self-rightous prig. That does not make us bad people. Just different.
Wow! There is a good argument that you should listen to the oppositions position to be sure you understand your own. But his piece isnt made up of constructive or even balanced criticism. This is a thinly veiled hate tirade that smears not only the candidate but his wife as well. Filled with cheap shots and not worth the time it takes to read it.
The writer has taken material that could have been presented in a reasonable opinion piece and by applying invective and a skewed system of logic arrived at something that doesn't qualify as journalism. The last four paragraphs are an insult to the reader as well as to the candidate.
This is not sufficiently balanced or analyzed to be considered journalism at all. Neither Obama's beliefs nor his actions are reflected in this vitriolic set of words. His record, his education, his work as a community organizer, and his history are either neglected or misrepresented. I am embarrassed that NewsTrust put this writing on its website.
Wow--this is the lowest I've EVER rated a story on NewsTrust. Apparently not much thought went into this screed from the self-styled "American Thinker."
This opinion piece is accurate but clearly is slanted, or it would merit a higher score. Senator Obama indeed has made ineffective defenses against the serious problems that are reported and carefully documented in this piece. For example, Ayers and Dohrn have made the same hate-filled comments as recently as November 2007 as they made 40 years ago. Obama's efforts to block in Illinois an infanticide ban that passed unanimously in the U.S. Senate is also well-documented in the article and places him far out of the mainstream. Thus the article is not balanced but still is strongly based on important and relevant factual material.
