Meet the knuckleheads of the U.S. Senate

The Senate has come a long way since Ted Kennedy arrived in Washington in 1962. But not in the right direction

In honor of the most recent Master of the Senate, Salon presents its list of those senators who are not masters, those who have helped turn what was once the nation's foremost debating society into the corporate board of Dunder Mifflin. Meet the senators who for reasons of questionable IQ or eccentricity, because they are vapid, stubborn or ornery, can fairly be called knuckleheads. Full Story »

I didn't learn anything new. But I'm a political geek. However, it's hard to find more expert sources than the kunckleheads themselves. And I always enjoy seeing these idiots hoist on their own big mouths.

The writing here is good, although I wouldn't exactly call it journalism. It's more like news comedy, and it might be funnier if it wasn't real. On the other hand, the piece reports the knuckleheadedness of these elected officials with objectivity and a minimum of editorial aspersions, leaving readers to apply their own aspersions. All in all, this piece reads well and provides numerous opportunities to quote the immortal Bugs Bunny, "Geez, what a maroon!"

Time and space probably doesn't permit the authors of this piece to do full justice to all of our Congressional and Senatorial knuckleheads, but I wish they would.
