Happiness rises with age

There's a reason, apparently, Americans sing "Happy Birthday."

New University of Chicago research says, in general, people grow happier as they grow older.

"With age comes happiness,'' writes U. of C. assistant professor of sociology Yang Yang in the April issue of American Sociological Review.
