The writer misses the main taking from the ABC staged "debate," the ABC trivializing the event by focusing on nebulous "fast-boating" kitchen sink mud balls spawned by the most hateful and petty of the right wing. Adding another nebulous and uninformative mud ball about Clinton only worsens the disservice to democracy. Many of the most caring and in person observers of human rights abuses in our country have been among the communists and radicals in our midst. Any acute awareness of important issues in our midst that derives from such contacts should be considered an advantage in terms of being "in touch" with the concerns of the people. The current policies of the candidates to address such issues are the only legitimate topic of debate. ABC sorely missed such an opportunity by consciously steering away from any issue oriented debate in order to pander to public "ambulance chasing" tastes for bloody noses from swats in a political cat fight.
