The article is an interesting walk through the history of governmental "capture" of scientists, and science. Scientists work for government which appoints industry reps with conflicts of interest, corporations fund disinformation programs, loyalty is valued over competence, and the populace is ill-educated in sciences. I don't feel it's fair to task only the scientists with remedying such a complex ailment. , we all know what happens to "whistle blowers"
