This is an emotionally written opinion piece which may be a call to action but is unlikely to change any opinions -- those who believe torture is justified will dismiss it as bleeding heart ranting and those abhored by toture will say, "amen!" Use of the Brandeis quote concerning problems with the end justifying the means is interesting because in the context of this article, it cuts two ways: violation of international law to obtain an intelligence objective on one hand and on the other, violation of national law in pursuit of a moral objective.
