Well, okay, it doesn't present the view of the immigration office so maybe it't not quite balanced. What it does show is the extreme provincialism (for the lack of a better word) of our immigration process. This man is at least someone who the Pakistani embassy knew well and could verify, when they were finally asked. What happens to someone they don't know who may not be as distinguished? And why assume that someone with real ties to terrorism would appear in dress which is bound to raise immigration eyebrows? One of my questions about all sorts of anti terrorism procedures is: would it have caught Timothy McVeigh, all American boy??
