Interesting perspective on Bhutan and how it is coping with westernization and its role in the world economy. This documentary footage is really well shot and presented from a first-person point of view, hosted by Christof Putzel, a young but astute correspondent -- which makes it all the more appealing to young adults. But it still adheres to core principles of journalism and is quite informative and well sourced. I loved hearing about Bhutan's 'gross national happiness' index, which is intended to help preserve the country's culture and environment.

A wonderful short documentary on a country most Americans no very little about. During the year I spent in Delhi, I spent a lot of time with Bhutanese students in India. This doc crystalizes the issues these students talked about as well. This is a classic story of the mixed blessing of modernity, but grounded and nuanced in its presentation.

A charming documentary about a country I never heard of. It sucessfully draws the viewer into the emotion of the story about Bhutan's struggle into democracy. One line from an interview says it all: "A poor country with rich people."
