A thought-provoking essay about civic engagement and American resilience. The author eschews any particular partisan position but still makes some pointed criticism about the current administration, as well as broader critiques of "just-in-time" American culture. An excellent read.

Fascinating story and interesting point of view. Well argued and convincing. The author brings together a lot of different threads to weave a plausible argument.
