Short video interviews with people protesting against China's recent crackdown in Tibet. Boing Boing's Xeni Jardin asks these protesters what they know about the Chinese military. The protesters, who appear to be interviewed in Los Angeles, largely cite secondary sources (e.g. the Internet, BBC) rather than primary sources, because they cannot call home to their relatives. The reporter's sole reliance on american protesters presents one side of the story, though in this case many other reports from reputable mainstream sources generally confirm the facts presented by the protesters. Overall, this video blog is effective in presenting voices we might not have heard from traditional news sources, and therefore complements mainstream media coverage of this issue quite effectively, even if it's not a news report in the classic sense of the term.
