Christian Brose, and George Will, fail to consider the question of why the effort to bring stability to Afghanistan should be in the hands of the US, when there are other countries in the immediate area far better able to deal with the situation in Afghanistan. The basic assumption of both writers is that the US is the country that needs to be calling the shots, when this demonstrably is untrue.

The US is squandering trillions of dollars on unnecessary military adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan, and this idiocy is undermining the strength of the nation. Iran, Russia and China should be taking the lead in dealing with Afghanistan, and the US should be well to the rear.
