Obama's Lies

Well, I'm an immigrant, and I try hard to feed my family. And yes, I have grievances. For instance, I think I pay far too much tax in support of far too many public sector workers, most of whom do nothing useful. So ... how will you bind your "particular grievances" to mine, Senator? This diatribe is a valuable lesson to keep out front; there are people who will fight to death rather than recognize the intertwined collective problems our society has created and continues to allow in one form or another. Mr. Derbyshire postures as a victim, slighted by the attention Obama gives to undervalued women, white unemployed men, immigrants he assumes to be illegal, and blacks imprisoned at a horrendous rate, and bereft of education and skills with which to extricate themselves from grueling poverty, without acknowledging the common interests we all share in solving these persistent, complex problems. Derbyshire, an avowed racist and homophobe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Derbyshire), does what any good demagogue would do: sniff the trees in this forest of a speech. The National Review is largely an organ of distortion and selfishness with a demonstrated history of racism. It's not irrelevant to also point out that Derbyshire, who supports candidates whose immigration policies happen to be most onerous w/r/t brown immigrants, was an undocumented worker when he arrived.

Derbyshire is like that annoying, argumentative forum participant, who, instead of arguing the issues, either thinks he's winning points by picking spelling errors or by deliberately misconstruing what is meant and then arguing against that misrepresntation.
