Doctors are different; they hold a special place in the hearts of people throughout the world because of the powers their training gives them to relieve suffering. The idea that military doctors would use those skills and techniques to inflict pain, or to aid those who cause suffering, is shocking. Considers an angle on the torture issue I was not aware of. This opinion piece makes a very compelling argument. Being an opinion piece, however, it is limited in it's journalistic value. I would look forward to longer treatment of this issue containing interviews with doctors, medical ethicists, etc.
