This is good journalism. The situation (bailing Republicans) is described in concise, readable prose. I'm left with a clear (albeit depressing) understanding of the situation that's shaping up in the Senate over health care reform.

It's difficult for me to believe that the relatively few loud and cranky voices at town hall meetings reflect what the majority of Americans want regarding health care. Of course, those voices fuel the conservative "stop the Dems at any cost" mentality that still characterizes the ultraconservative Republican congress elected a few years ago. Their unwillingness to work toward something that would be good for all of us is appalling.
