this is an important enough topic that even more studies about adolescent self-harm need to be done. the headline here is somewhat sensational yet the article shows that the physiological factor of serotonin is the more important factor. the article, and presumably the study, didn't address any other co-factor, other than mother-daughter arguing, many of which presumably, if combined with low serotonin may well have the same effects. fortunately the article describes the study enough to counter the headline.
