The statistically supported story provides a strong reminder of problems in women's rights around the world. Notable is the absence of the US from the list of the best 10 countries in the world for women. Also notable is the information on Afghanistan, which seems to put the lie to George and Laura, as well as today's press release from the UN.

This story provides a basic overview of the problems encountered by women and serves as the gateway to the paper's coverage of International Women's Day which includes statistical comparison charts on issues such as the literacy gap, as well as links to stories on the gender gap in politics in Canada and how Canadian Muslim women are supporting each other to fight abuse, among other topics.

This story could be about immigration (because it had to do with the different countries and which are most safe) This relates to how women could be safer if they were to go to different, safer places, thus women immigrating to different countries to be safer.
