The story shows the sub-human deprivation of those who approve and practice torture. The arrogant US disdain to even reply to the request for extradition shows other signs of megalomania. The Spanish judge says it would be cruel and inhuman to prosecute the prisoners destroyed by torture; that does not seem to be an impediment to Bush.

This is an important and factual report on a judge's action. However, given the subject, including a comment from the U.S. government -- even if it was a refusal to comment -- would have been appropriate.

The story fails despite the fact it is an crucial issue. There is so little information about how or why the inmates were sent to Guantanomo or why they were released. No info on their status in Britain or what kind of deal the US and the UK cut. Was rendidition ued to imprison them in Pakistan, Gambia and Afganistan? Too many questions, tooo few answers to be usweful.
