In the course of my long and messy resume, there are several posts (Scott Co., Oakland Tribune, Friden) in and around Oakland. The stories in this article could have come from anytime in the last 45 years. The numbers in the article are very important and the stories were intended to humanize the numbers. However, to a person that has lived and worked and taught in Oakland it feels like there is nothing new under the sun.
