This article is a reprint from the November 2, 2007 (not June as stated in the reprint info) article, but omits the conclusion, which called for more research in Great Britain into the causes and remedies of colony collapse disorder. It makes an argument for industrial farming contributing to the decline in bees but fails to note sources, which would have strengthened its usefulness.

A good article, but not much expansion beyond what hypotheses have been put forth for a while. I was hoping for some update on study results or new studies. With airborne chemicals and mercury polluting pristine lakes and altering the sexuality of fish, could these be affecting bees? Could it bee? The artificial insemination of bees brings to mind the PBS movie "Why Sex?" which puts forward the argument that sexuality allows the immune system to adapt faster than diseases and predators can adapt. Could tampering with Darwin be causing the demise of the bees?
