The coverage gives voice to right wing exploiters, and the people who want to preserve the water, fish, and ranching life style. The environmental effects of selenium may be a new topic for some.

This opinion piece is poorly balanced, and does not deal with the major factor, the last-minute action by Clinton that put huge territories off limits for any use, one of several extreme actions designed to embarrass the incoming administration. The vast set-aside had little justification and caused much damage. The piece does not give a fair report on the situation.
