What might come in handy now would be an up-to-date, comprehensive overview of the rapidly exfoliating Foley story. (Neither Glenn Greenwald’s flame-throwing indictment in “Unclaimed Territory,” nor Walter Shapiro’s more tempered consideration of the fiasco’s effect on the elections, are quite the dispassionate discussion of events and repercussions that must exist somewhere.) E&P’s ably-researched and -sourced E&P story does a fine job of mimicking, in its structure, the downward spiral of the revelations about Dennis Hastert’s inaction on the matter.
