This is a strange opinion piece. Democracy in Pakistan is a defeat for U.S. foreign policy? That the fundamentalist parties "fell apart" is bad? The outcome of the election strengthens the parties that support the U.S. objectives in the region. The facts are simply contrary to the author's biases.
