Helpful primer on some of the challenges which Africa presents for U.S. foreign policy, particularly in fledgling democracies like Kenya and Sudan. For a reasonable perspective on this subject, NPR's Michelle Norris interviews Princeton Lyman, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. It would have been helpful to present other independent views on this important issue.

A sober, and sobering look at the challenges to democracy in Africa, and broad, general suggestions of how the US can play a more positive role.

NPR as usual shows its bias for the Democrats and against anything done by the Bush administration. The lead story today should have been the high praise for President Bush by Bob Geldoff, who rightly considers him to have done more for Africa than any previous U.S. President. Poorly sourced and unbalanced.
