The treatment seems even handed, mildly describing Mr. Bush's bullying an fractured Democratic Senate to deliver liberals a resounding defeat. Information is provided on the bills, and quotes from leaders of both parties. It would have been stronger with historical framing, since it was an explosive revelation that citizens had been spied on illegally.

Poor journalism simply because of the phraseology 'a key victory for the White House'; there is so much more to this story that this article actually does a disservice to readers. Junk journalism.

news reported ,,,,,who voted, and which way did they vote? This cop out could never be considered journalism.....what is the issue and what does it me to you and me. Does this set a bench mark in accountability or the lack there of? Who wrote the legislation. Who testified.........bad to worst......

This concise article clearly states the relevant information about the vote on the bill in the Senate and the differences with the House. The Sun web version helpfully links to several earlier articles on the issue. Readers can easily obtain information on details of the floor arguments and the votes from Thomas.gov. Good, unbiased reporting.
