The article is about McCain's stand(s) on global warming. He was unwilling to go along with the Right's foot-dragging and denial, until he started his run for president and had to avoid offending the Republican base. Roberts raises the question of what he would do if elected. Probably even McCain doesn't know that, but it seems obvious his leadership on the subject would be weakened. Unfortunately, these reviews have degenerated into a debate -- strike that -- a squabble between those who recognize that "there is no challenge of greater historical consequence," and those taken in by the Exxon-Mobil-paid stooges (C. Fred Singer, et al).
