While there does need to be more dialogue about the meaning and nature of modern terrorism, this article is not the place to begin. In an attempt to analysis certain myths, it seems to uncritically reinforce others.

In trying to shoot 10 claims, this article falls short of using enough sources and facts for all but a few. It seems designed to garner lots of comments, which it has.

A sharp and concise critique of ten common slogans or ideas about terrorism. The writer first states the slogan or idea and then debunks it by showing how poorly it captures the complex reality. A nice reality-check in the current hyper-polarized and strident climate.
