The story so greatly invokes cognitive dissonance in anybody who believes justice and the rule of law is in the DNA of our country, that the story is not believed or taken seriously by many people. Meanwhile, this fascist cabal continues to run the country without being impeached immediately by our elected representatives.
This opinion piece at least is non-partisan in blasting both Democrats and Republicans. However the authors never took a class in American history and thus their piece is clueless about what has happened in prior wars. Joe McCarthy never got anyone put in jail for anything; it was Woodrow Wilson who put hundreds of suspected socialists and communists in prison during World War I. Thus when they mentioned McCarthy instead of Wilson in paragraph 11 it only reflects their ignorance of the subject.
