The secretive and illogical pious edicts of bush in trying to protect corporations ex post facto from prosecution for crimes are examined and exposed, with gusto. The story does not even mention that the apparent reason for bush's strident illogic is that investigatory discovery into lawsuits against Verizon could well uncover high crimes of the bush administration for which anybody of principle would impeach him, besides the other charges.

This is a "Special Comment," and hence an opinion piece. It does not pretend to be neutral. Rather, it is a passionate piece of advocacy journalism. However, this does not make it "bad" journalism, because this comment also has much penetrating insight. And good journalism involves helping us understand the significance of the news, and in this, Olberman's Comment excels.
