The anecdotal evidence is important to read, and gives a pulse on the ideas of the occupation in the mind of Iraqis. However, this piece really requires a rigorous comparison between what the Administration has said and a 'reality' that includes official statistics, and reporting from Iraq, which this is not.

The author chastises the main stream media in the West for continuing to ignore the Iraqis' voices in their discussion of Iraq, and prints a fairly extensive collection of quotes from people he interviewed. The interviewees apparently include academics, political analysts and journalists and at least one merchant, so it is mostly restricted to the more educated section of Iraqi society. The piece is somewhat unbalanced, with the views being mostly anti-occupation and anti-American.
